Storage Wars
If you have not heard of the show Storage Wars on A&E its definitely something worth checking out.
When rent is not paid on a storage unit for three months it is put up for auction. Inspection of the uni is allowed but for only 5 minutes. The winners of the units may have something valuable or a piece of junk.
One of the main characters of the reality TV show, Dave Hester, spent $17,125.00 and ended up profiting $129,361.00. Not bad Dave, not bad.
Auction Hunters
The show follows Allen Haff, a second generation antiques dealer, and Clinton Jones, a historical weapons and old currency expert, as they participate in Storage Auctions throughout Southern California. The pair leads viewers through the process of bidding on and winning abandoned storage units, appraising the items found within, and selling the most lucrative and interesting pieces to experts or collectors.
TV shows where people go out looking for crap and make money are becoming more and more popular. Pawn Stars, and American Pickers are two other examples. The question is why? It is peoples desire to think that maybe the crap they have is actually worth some money and maybe its worth saving? Maybe these shows are creating the people who then go on the show Hoarders. Conspiracy? Probably not but as these shows grow in popularity you can only imagine that more and more shows will pop out.
