The Department of Motor Vehicles regulates household goods movers. Moving companies may participate in a collective tariff, and/or file their own tariff. the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles holds all movers responsible for following by their tariff, policies and procedures.
In the state of Texas, shipments are considered local if they are within a county, between 2 counties, or within one city. Movers’ charges are subject to follow by their tariffs, which are lawfully on file with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
