In the state of Nevada, household goods movers are regulated and are required to hold a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. This is a special license that the confirms the company meets the requirements of rates and insurance to perform local moves in this state. To do a move in the entire state, the mover must be licensed to serve all counties; some movers will get a certificate for specific counties (like Clark County is the major county out there). The licensed mover must have a CPCN # on their vehicles.
One important thing to remember is that you make sure your local mover carries workers compensation insurance and the proper licensing on equipment and vehicles.
To find out more on moving companies, and to see if a mover has the proper certificate you may view the Nevada Transportation Authority website
