In the state of Mississippi, local movers are required to be licensed and insured. They are not regulated however, to do local moves in the state of Mississippi, but some movers still follow their old tariffs and if 30 miles or less the move is priced hourly and if over 30 miles then it is done by weight and distance.
One important thing to remember is that you make sure your local mover carries workers compensation insurance and the proper licensing on equipment and vehicles.
The mover is required to have a MDot # on their trucks, and if you have any questions on whether a company is licensed and insured
